After 5 Months - Después de 5 meses
All my life I have been an overweight person, since my childhood to my adult life. I thought that this didn´t affect me in any way and that I too was a healthy person. A friend convinced me to look for information about obesity surgery. I didn´t considered bad losing some weight so I went for it.
After my surgery I could see that my obesity did affect my life, a lot. Today I won´t get easily tired. Today my knees won´t hurt by the afternoon. Today I won´t feel strong heart palpitations. Today I feel and I am another person. I´m a fun person in my home and at work. I am a person who loves to go out. I needed to lose 110 pounds to understand that obesity is really a disease. And what I like is that there is still more to lose, permanently. (Pictures below)
Toda mi vida fui una persona con sobrepeso, desde mi niñez hasta mi vida adulta. Pensaba que eso no me afectaba de ningun modo en mi manera de ser y que yo también era una persona con buena salud. Una amiga me convenció a buscar información sobre cirugía de obesidad. Pensé que no sería nada mal perder un poco de peso y me animé.
Después de mi cirugía pude ver que la obesidad si afectaba en mi vida, mucho. Hoy ya no me cansaré facilmente. Hoy me siento y soy otra persona. Soy una persona divertida en mi hogar y en mi trabajo. Me encanta salir. Necesité de perder 50 kilogramos para entender que la obesidad realmente es una enfermedad. Y lo que más me gusta es que aún falta más peso que voy ir perdiendo, permanentemente.

I know that obesity causes many problems. Years ago, I knew that my back and knee pain with my recently diabetes diagnose was because of my obesity. My wife knew that I snored because of my obesity. My children knew I couldn´t play with them like other fathers because of my obesity. But I still supplied the house income. When my best friend died, I worried. The doctor said it was a heart attack. He was 38 years old. He had a wife, three kids and many friends.
My life changed after my bariatric surgery. I can play with my kids and my relationship in my marriage is better than ever. And let me tell you something else… my back and knees don´t hurt anymore and I haven´t required my diabetes medication in the last 4 months. This is something that everybody should know. Yo se que la obesidad causa muchos problemas. Desde hace tiempo sabía que mis dolores de espalda y rodilla junto con mi recién diagnosticada diabetes eran por causa de mi obesidad. Mi esposa sabía que yo roncaba a causa de mi obesidad. Mis hijos sabían que no podía jugar con ellos como otros papás a causa de mi obesidad. Pero yo aún cumplía manteniendo a mi familia. Cuando mi mejor amigo murió, me preocupé. El doctor dijo que fue por un infarto al corazón. Tenía 38 años. tenía una esposa, tres hijos y muchos amigos.
Después de mi cirugía mi vida cambió. Puedo jugar con mis hijos y mi relación con mi esposa está mejor que nunca. Y dejen contrarles algo más... mi espalda y rodillas ya no duelen. Además, no he requerido tomar medicamento para mi diabetes desde hace 4 meses. Esto es algo que todos deben saber.
